Teapot Residue

To lift that old brownish residue out of the bottom of an old teapot, use a soft bristle toothbrush with a paste of baking soda and white vinegar--rub gently.

Wait a few minutes, and then rinse off.

(never use super hot water, as it may crack the china, lukewarm is your friend.)
