Meet the Members of Vintage Market Team- Pam of THeVintageGreen

1- Tell us a bit about you?

Well, I guess the first thing that comes to mind about myself is that I am happily married and the mom of 2 teens. I am a city girl at heart, being born and raised in Philadelphia. We currently live in a small town and run a delicatessen. I am a sweet and caring person, but have been known to push people down at thrift shops and yard sales! I am a bookkeeper by trade, but have been collecting and thrifting since I was a little girl. I used to go "junking" with my grand-pop and when I was older, & would drag my boyfriends out on trash night jaunts when I lived in the city. One of the first things my husband and I found for our apartment was a painting that was too big to fit in my car, so we carried it 5 blocks home!

2- What do you sell?

I sell anything vintage, anything that I love is usually what I sell. From vintage clothing and shoes, bags and luggage, housewares and ephemera, you name it, I'll sell it!

3- Favorite decade for vintage?

That would depend on the item, I guess. I honestly can't pinpoint a favorite era for me...I love it all!

4- Favorite vintage item you own? Or regret having sold in the past?

That would be my vintage Moon globe. My husband and I found it at a yard sale in the 1980s. I posted a picture of it on my Facebook Page...everyone wants to buy it, but it is so amazing when paired with my vintage Earth globe!

5- Favorite item you are currently selling? And why?

That would have to be my vintage Oshkosh Luggage Set. I adore vintage luggage and they simply do not make them like they used to. The hard-body cases are so charming and chic.

6- Best advice for newbies?

Network and network some more. Keep your items organized and clean so that when they do sell, they are ready to ship. Otherwise, have fun and remember, you can't keep everything you like!

7- Favorite web sites? Or blogs? (clickable, please)

I am either listing or shopping on etsy, and don't much go anywhere else online, except maybe Facebook, sorry!

8- Favorite movies? Or TV?

Favorite movie is 20th Century with John Barrymore, and current flicks include anything by the Coen Brothers or Quentin Tarantino * TV is rare, but I love the twisted humor of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the soap opera All My Children.

9- Favorite music?

anything alternative, from the 80s, and disco, too. I am not fond of radio today, and only listen to CDs or Tapes. In my car right now is a Ween CD.

10- Favorite books? Authors?

I love the English Country Murders, Sherlock Holmes, Mrs. Marple, Agatha Christie. Also, beatnick poetry by Kerouac and Ginsberg are a challenge to read.

11- Where do you see yourself in ten years?

That's a hard question! I usually live in the moment and take each day one at a time...but hopefully, still here and visiting my kids at college.
